



Under other gynaecological problems Problems that are not directly related to infections, vaginal dryness or incontinence, but can have a major impact on a woman's health and quality of life. These include:
- Menstrual disorders - irregular, painful or heavy menstrual cycles (dysmenorrhoea, menorrhagia).
- Cysts and fibroids - Benign growths on the ovaries or uterus that can cause pain, pressure or menstrual disruption.
- Endometriosis - the presence of uterine lining outside the uterus, causing pain, difficulty getting pregnant and sometimes chronic inflammatory problems.
- Polyps of the cervix or uterus - Small growths that may cause discharge or bleeding during the cycle.
- Infertility or difficulty conceiving - due to hormonal disorders, ovulation disorders, endometriosis or other reproductive problems.
- Hormonal disorders - Problems related to imbalances of oestrogen, progesterone, thyroid hormones and other hormones.
- Changes on the cervix - precancerous lesions that can be detected by a PAP test or colposcopy.
- Problems in menopause - hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, vaginal dryness and increased risk of osteoporosis.
The treatment for these problems is depends on the cause, may include medication, hormone therapy, minor surgery or lifestyle changesbut always important regular gynaecological examination for early detection and prevention of complications.
