Why choose a Qualified® prenatal test?
- Accurate. Over 99.9%. Fetal fractions are analysed using state-of-the-art 4.0 technology.
- Extensive. Over 100 microdeletions and duplications.
- No risk. Safe for mother and baby.
- Quick. Results within 3 to 5 working days of receipt in the laboratory.
- It is flexible, which means it is suitable for both biparturient and IVF pregnancies.
High success rate
In 99.4% of cases, the Qualified® test gives a result about genetic syndromes.
The likelihood of passing or failing the Qualified® test depends on how much freely circulating
fetal DNA (cfDNA) is present in the mother's blood. The percentage of cfDNA depends on the week
of pregnancy (the earlier the pregnancy, the lower the percentage of cfDNA), as well as on the weight of the mother (the higher
the weight of the mother, the less cfDNA will be isolated from the baby).
Which pregnant women can take the Qualified® test?
- Monoparturient pregnancy
- Biparturient pregnancy
- Pregnancy with IVF
- Pregnancy with a donor egg
How is the Qualified® prenatal test different from other screening tests for Down syndrome?
The Qualified® prenatal test gives clear answers in the first trimester with a simple venous blood draw. Other screening tests for Down's syndrome are carried out later in pregnancy and require a few visits to the doctor. The risk is assessed by combining several non-specific parameters. Some of these are the age of the pregnant woman, individual ultrasound measurements, free-bhcg and PAPP concentrations.
Statistical screening tests in the first trimester are associated with a false positive rate of up to 5%.
The Qualified® prenatal test uses a unique method of targeted DNA analysis, combined with a quality quotient, to achieve over 99% detection rate and a false positive rate
of less than 0.1%.
