Midwifery counselling is aimed at pregnant women, mums and families and offers professional support in pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. It is an individual counselling based on the midwife's knowledge and experience in maternal and newborn care.

During counselling, the midwife offers advice on diet, lifestyle and physical activity during pregnancy, supports preparations for childbirth and postnatal recovery, advises on breastfeeding, newborn care and establishing contact with the baby and helps with identifying potential complications and advises on when to seek medical help.

Aim of midwifery counselling is to provide professional, friendly and holistic support to women at all stages of reproductive life - from family planning, through pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. Midwifery counselling is based on trust , an individual approach and stimulating the body's natural processes.
