An ultrasound scan is a unique opportunity for parents-to-be:
- to see their baby hold out his or her hand for the first time,
- count your fingers,
- they watch her suck her finger,
- opens his mouth,
- smiles uncontrollably,
- they see it devouring the amniotic fluid,
- how to cover the face with the hand and
- many other uncontrolled movements.
The investigation is carried out 24. to 29. week of pregnancyas this is the ideal time to discover and
observe the foetus, as:
- At 24 weeks of pregnancy, the foetus is already responding to external stimuli,
- is of an appropriate size and
- the amount of amniotic fluid is sufficient for a nice display.
The quality of the examination depends, of course, on the position of the fetus and the permeability of the skin.
The examination also includes measurements of the width and circumference of the head, the abdominal circumference and the length of the femur.
